Hi All,
Does V20 support the setup of external ringers for singular users / ring groups / call queues etc, we've had a number of queries from customers asking about the ability to have a ringer setup so that they know when a particular user / ring group / call queue has active calls on it.

at the moment we have two different requests,

One for a loud ringer for a factory to trigger when a user is called (warehouse manager)

Second is for a ringer of some type to trigger when a call queue / ring group has a call on it (not user specific) since they are having issues with users muting devices and claiming they didn't hear the call.

Any suggestions would be welcome for solutions :)

Could use an ATA, and connect a bell so when the user is rung it'll ring the bell and the phone.

If this user is part of the queue, this will therefore ring loud

I haven't ruled this out yet, but I was just trying to see if there was a standalone device that covered this to try and minimise the number of moving parts in the solution for the customer.

Would this also work for ring groups and call queues? I'm trying to find a way to have it notify when the queue has a call, but without setting the device up as a user and associating them to the queue, which would mean 3CX trying to give them calls I can't see a way to-do it other than associate with a user directly which will work as long as the user is in the office.

We also support some PA devices that can be used in place of an ATA

Be mindful when adding a user that will never answer calls, if you add it in a queue it will affect the statistics or its forwarding settings could affect the call flow. If added to a user and it rings too long and the device drops the call, the other devices of the user will also stop ringing. Think along these lines and test ahead of time.

In addition to hardware based solutions including ringers, you may also want to take a look at our 3CX Queue Notifier. It can send notifications to overhead paging systems, phones, and desktop popup.

This is an example of the desktop popup. If this was a real notification it would list information about the caller on the left-hand side of the dialog, plus a list of all your queues with the number of callers waiting and max hold time.

You can set up notifications to use text-to-speech: "you have 15 callers in the queue, the max hold time is 12 minutes and 35 seconds" or you can use a chime to "beep" the number of callers or hold time rather than use text-to-speech.

You can also set the dialog to pop when thresholds you set are exceeded, or when any new caller joins the queue. The popup dialog can play an audible warning too.

Thanks for the reply about the software I'll keep it in mind for future customer solutions, the issue I have for this customer is they have a very noisy factory floor and need to hear an office phone ringing from the floor, we've ended up sourcing an Algo Ringer / Pager device for the factory floor on this occasion.
