Hi All,

I currently have achieved FailOver with 3CX - both PBXs are on the same LAN.

I was wondering is it possible to have PBXs in different geographical locations on different networks for the failover or do they need to be on the same Lan?

I'm using the FQDN provided by 3CX.

As Alphabetic mentioned, this can be in different networks, but it will depend on how your IP phones are provisioned, if any.

For example, suppose you have locally provisioned IP phones on the active system. In that case, the passive needs to be able to see these phones on their local IP addresses to have them provisioned locally when failover occurs. Phones provisioned locally cannot be switched to be used as remote automatically. If you have a VPN in place between the locations, this can be achieved.

If you have IP phones provisioned remotely, and none are locally provisioned, and all using a 3CX SBC, for example, then the 3CX systems can be totally remote from each other.
