Good day wise All,

While this is mostly a firmware question, I still wanted to tap collective knowledge here : when connecting i* Intercom and x7 phone to the 3cx, how does one make a picture appear when the call comes in ? Default setup only sets up video call once phone user accepted the call, so there is no view of whoever is calling you

Many thanks,
unixux

3cx does not handle the video call, this is done between the devices.

Each device needs to have the same codec, with the same parameters (i.e H264, VP9, etc)

Hi @gsc-unixux

Not really a matter of firmware per se. 3CX is normally not involved in the video (the devices exchange media among themselves, or we pass through), so you might have better luck asking the manufacturer or reading their manuals and learning about the extra features they offer.

They may have additional options that allow you to do more things, like a stream URL that you can watch the camera feed, or a special shortcut that allows you to monitor from the phone.

You might also find settings in the i-series web UI that allow you to initiate calls directly as video.
So start reading their documentation, and exploring the options in the UI.

Thank you for the quick response ! You're right, it's a hardware thing above all - still, perspective of PBX users would be valuable.
In any case, it seems that the key word for this feature is "preview" so if anyone runs into similar issue, you want to check "Enable Preview" under Line/Advanced Settings at least in case of Fanvil.
