Fanvil manual re-provision from handset

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to initiate a manual re-provision of a Fanvil (X6U) from the handset. This is mainly so users can update their BLF's on the handset after they edit them using the 3CX web client or get "Contacts" directoy updates when extension details are changed.

The Yealinks have an "Basic->Update Configuration" menu option which quickly reprovisions without rebooting and "3CX PhoneBook->Update" which instantly updates the phonebook without rebooting or re-provisioning.

I can find no similar options on the Fanvil's only a "Basic->Reboot System" menu options and so its easier to just advise to unplug ethernet cable to "turn off and on again" to update as its quicker then user trying to find "Reboot System" in the menu and achives the exact same thing.

Is this just a limitation of using Fanvil handsets.

Yes, it seems to be that they'll need to reboot to reprovision. This is why we have the option to reprovision quickly from the management console.

Main complaint I am getting from users is that when they update their BLF buttons the phones do not update, this complaint is coming from both Fanvil and Yealink users, but at least Yealink users I don't have to ask them to physically unplug the phone while I am talking to them.

I assume there is no way for a user to be able to reprovision their phones via the webclient rather than calling me everytime they change their BLF's. Might be a good future feature on the BLF screen of the webclient, asking users to reboot phones manually just to update BLF's seems very messy.

• BLFs actually do update automatically, but this happens 1-2 per day for most models
• A quick reboot will cause the phone to reprovision

So the fastest way to get this done is tell the users to go to:
Menu >> Basic >> Reboot System
