Fanvil Phones - DSS Keys

Good Morning All,

i've read a thread on this before but wondered if anything had changed.

i've got some X5s and the first 2 DSS keys are taken for the voicemail and headset.

Seems a waste to me but i assume they've done this before there is no physical button on the phone for these?

Firstly, what does MWI mean and can i change it to say voicemail?

Can i reposition these?

Hi,
MWI is the voicemail - Message Waiting Indicator. This is how the Fanvil calls it.
And, yes you are right, it's done because the phone doesn't have the physical buttons for these features.

The shame is that you don't want to understand that according to user accessibility guidelines the phone MUST have the fast access buttons to exist features if it's possible. If the phone manufacturer ignores this - it's up to them. 3CX is not ignoring this and providing fast access, at least, to the MWI and Handset features.
I used the Fanvil phones from the first day when was supported by 3CX and the first versions of 3CX template didn't contain these two buttons there. ALL my customers were complaining "Why they need to navigate to deep settings to reach them (especially MWI)". Thanks god 3CX added them....
You will say "why to not make them configurable?" - I'll tell you - again, because of user accessibility guidelines.
Another think, these phones has 40 BLF buttons and you are calling "waste" the usage of 2 of them as a fast access to useful features? Sorry, I'm not agree with you.

I think some people here don't like to read the words like "waste" and "shame"
I can understand them. They are using our products to make business and getting some things very personal...

Anyway, I can give you the constructive answer to your question.
You can open a new thread in 3CX Ideas. The people will vote for it and, according to the number of votes that it will take, we will decide to implement it or not.
You also can create a custom template and try to make the needed modifications there by yourself,
but please be noted that the customized templates are not supported by 3CX Support Team and you will create and use them on your own risk.

So, I think, it's better to open the tread in 3CX Ideas and wait for the future implementations.
