Hi, can anyone help me how the address book should work please on the Fanvil. We're evaluating this phone and this is so far the one aspect I'm stuck on.

We have 1,200 or so contacts in the 3CX company address book.

After provisioning the phone to an account, just using standard 3CX template for the V65, I can see that around 950 contacts are showing on the phone's address book. But we're missing the next approx 300.

I've tried setup the cloud phonebook. On the phone this displays the first 1,000 contacts in the list, but items after that can't be viewed or searched. But on the website portal for the phone the whole amount can be seen.

How do people manage the address book for these phones with 3CX so that the whole address book can be searched from the phone and the phone pick it up for incoming caller display etc?

Hi,

You may discuss the device limits with the manufacturer if you wish to learn more, but do keep in mind that IP phones have limited resources, model and brand dependent.

PS: The device does not necessarily need a phonebook for incoming calls. We will match them on 3CX or take their caller ID and send the information as the caller's display name to your phone. This is a good fallback in case you have more contacts than your devices can handle.

Thank you, good point about not being needed for incoming calls caller display, and of course the windows app can be used for ease of dialling out. And we can use BLF for internal contacts. So the phone address book itself perhaps is less important than I was thinking....
