Fanvil X3s upgrade fhru 3CX failed. X3S upgraded to X5!

Hello,

i've an issue with Fanvil X3s. I've been upgrading phones to the newest firmware thru 3CX 15.5.0 and one of the X3S phones upgraded for unknown reasons to X5 model. All others phones upgraded to 2.3.2.4673 firmware now but one R2.2.0.3696 and is shown as X5 model (same on the phone settings). Can’t log to the web interface to manually upgrade the right firmware.

Any ideas to solve this problem? Factory reset doesn’t help.

I would contact your Fanvil reseller.
Unless they have a back door - you may have to exchange it.

And what about the false upgrade from 3CX. How can I find out why did that happened? I don’t want to have the same problem ones again.

I had an issue updating some Fanvil X3 phones, I had to manually update it to the minimum firmware that 3CX recommend, then it would let me update the firmware from the management console.

Mentioned Firmware version (R2.2.0.3696) was never supported by 3CX for any of Fanvil phone models. So, it can't be a 3CX issue. We never had the Fanvil firmware with this number, so we can't update your phone to it.
Even more, if you check the config file of all X3S models you will find the following:
http://....................../firmware/fanvil/x3s2.3.2.4673.z
This means that all your Fanvil X3S models are downloading the same file with "x3s2.3.2.4673.z" name, so it's physically not possible that 3CX correctly updated all phones except one.

I think, someone played with the settings of that particular phone and upgrade it directly from Fanvil (or somewhere else).
Here I agree with craigreilly, it's better to contact to Fanvil reseller or Fanvil directly. They will help you to update it to 3CX supported firmware.
