Fanvil X3U Answering Delay

I have recently purchased some fanvil 3XU, 4XU and 5XU handsets. The 5XU and 4XU are working fine but I'm finding an issue with the 3XU where there is around a one second delay after the receiver is picked up to when the call is connected. This means when the person answering the phone says hello, the call has not yet been connected and the person on the other end does not hear them say hello.

I've updated the phone firmware to version 4.4.12 and 3CX is version 18.0 and the 3CX Server is on premise with the phones connected directly.

Would anyone be able to advise how to resolve this issue?

I was able to replicate the behavior you describe, there is indeed a very small delay, just enough to be noticable.

Feel free to report it to Fanvil if you find it is not within your acceptable levels, but do keep in mind that lower end models usually exhibit less performant behavior than their higher end ones.

If it's something that can be improved in software, they might release a future update that makes it a little better. If it's just their processor that's a little slow to react in the lower end models, you might not be able to avoid this unless you replace them with a better phone.

Ok it seems to be a little bit better but not by large amount (margin of error).
Remember, we are talking about less than half a second difference here, so it may well be in the region of "nit picking" or I may be imagining the difference.

If you answer and say "one, two, three" sometimes the other side will hear you from the "one", sometimes they will hear it as "..ne, two, three"

I tested on a local installation to minimize network delays, but do keep in mind the other side will also take a few milliseconds to setup the call and start accepting audio packets: ie. The handset on the Fanvil is lifted, but the caller is still hearing the progress tone for a few more milliseconds before their audio hardware initializes.

Thanks for trying that out, looks like they are pretty simular performaance wise then.

I have logged it with Fanvil, hopefully they can create a firmware fix as we've invested in quite a few of these. It's anoying as apart from that they are good phones and I've never seen this in other phone models even if they are towards the lower end. Looking at the RAM difference between the X3U and X4U there looks to be a considerable difference so maybe thats the problem.

I'm supprised no one else has noticed this as they're not new phones are they.

It's not a terribly bad problem, but hopefully if it can be improved in software they might do it.

If it's an SoC issue (ie. it needs a small amount of time to initialize the internal sound device) it might not be doable, lets see!
