Fanvil X3U BLF Label Length

The BLF labels on the X3U are laughably short by default, and changing the "Sidekey label length" setting from "Default" to "Long" seems to only remove the ... at the end, instead of actually making the label field longer. See attached images.

Is this a firmware limitation? Something I should reach out to Fanvil about? Any help is appreciated.

I'm fairly certain this is a purposeful limitation due to the small screen.

Yes, you should reach out to Fanvil to get an official clarification since they are the manufacturer of both the device and firmware.

Just funny because the other 70% of the screen is completely unused.

Hi Matt,

Just keep in mind that default UI when you factory reset the phone, and provision it via 3CX has more elements, as opposed to the largely blank screen in your example, so it kind of makes sense they would cut it off given the limited space.



Contact them anyway though because they may offer other customizations you may be able to use.

If it causes you any trouble though, I would recommend to keep the defaults since that's what is normally tested before release.
