Fanvil X3U bricked?

I was upgrading the firmware on a Fanvil X3U. When rebooted, the phone now only shows a "3CX" logo with a moving red progress bar. It never moves beyond this screen. Factory restore attempts do not work: after powering up while holding the "#" key it never shows "Post Mode" to then invoke a factory restore. The web UI does not load either. Any ideas?

It could be bricked, but you could also be able to recover it yourself so it's worth a shot at least.

Look up upgrading Fanvil firmware via POST mode and they will have instructions on how to do it.

The instructions to do firmware via POST mode do not work on the phone. After following power-up instructions to invoke Post Mode, the phone never shows "Post Mode." It just shows the 3CX logo and stays on that screen.

Try continuously tapping the # key while plugging the power in. Sometimes the long press method will not react.

If this does not help then contact the manufacturer to RMA the device, it might in fact be completely bricked
