I recently had reports from a customer of an issue where when they are dialing an outbound call any incoming call will interrupt the dialing and erase any numbers they had already entered. I discovered the fix for this on Fanvil X6 and X6U phones was to configure 2 line keys but this did not fix it for the X5S also running on 2.4.12 firmware which is the latest release. After further testing with an X5S running an older firmware (I believe it was 1.2.4) setting the line keys did fix the issue. After upgrading the same X5S that was running the older firmware to 2.4.12 setting 2 line keys no longer fixed the issue and any incoming call would interrupt you if you were instead of dialing. The behavior I have seen on the X6 phones and the X5S on older firmware is that when a user picks up their handset to start dialing the call begins in their first line and any incoming calls ring into the second line leaving their outbound dialing uninterrupted.

This seems to be an issue specifically with the X5S as I was unable to recreate the issue until upgrading firmware and I cannot recreate the issue on an X6 or X6U. Wasn't sure if anyone had run across similar issues or a potential fix.

Hi Eric,

While we do monitor issues in general, it's more for stuff to do with provisioning or anything that might break calls. So I think this is a question better asked directly at Fanvil.

They might have a solution, or they might consider changing the behavior in the future based on customer feedback.

Thanks for the response I will submit a ticket with Fanvil on the issue.

Found a fix for the issue. In the web gui for the phone under Phone Settings > Features the ring priority setting needed to be modified from Priority to Normal. Oddly this settings default was inconsistent across some Fanvil models. I had a pair of X6 for a different customer that needed this setting modified but my co-workers X6U was already set to Normal.
