Hello 3CX Team,
We are increasingly implementing 3CX solutions for our customers. However, a major point of criticism compared to traditional systems is the limited signaling on hardware phones (SIP endpoints). The problem: While the 3CX apps display the status (Away, DND) perfectly, the BLF buttons on desk phones provide very little information. However, many customers need visual confirmation for a "day and night mode."
A concrete real-world example: Customers often use a BLF button to activate call forwarding (e.g., to an emergency cell phone or to after-hours mode). Currently, the user often cannot tell at a glance whether call forwarding is currently active or not. Manufacturers like Yealink offer powerful APIs that would support exactly this type of status synchronization.
Our request:
It would be a huge added value if 3CX were to push presence information and call forwarding statuses directly to the BLF buttons on the hardware phones. Users must be able to immediately see on the desk phone:
Is the colleague just on a call or generally away?
Is "Night Mode" (call forwarding) currently active?
This would massively increase the acceptance of the 3CX solution among users switching from traditional PBX systems.
