Thank you for another update. Also, from what I'm reading the new app is compatible with v16 update 2.
We already know that the old app is also compatible with v16 update 2.

So is it correct that as long as we have the server running v16 update 2, the end user will not have any down time due to the app update?

But if the server is running v16 update 1 or earlier and the end user takes the Android update, the mobile app will not be compatible and the server will need to be updated or the end user will need to install the provided APK?

That sounds sensible but is different from the previous info provided so I just want to be sure that we are properly prepared.

p.s. I'm using the updated beta and I love the UI improvements and the option to silence the app.

No as per the blog post it only applies to v15.5 users. They can not use this new Android App. This new app will work with any version of v16, but if you wish to have push / app wake up per profile you need update 3. This feature requires a server side update this is why....

Hi, this version still keeps on crashing on a Motorola Moto G5 plus.
Previous beta was also broken, the one before that worked fine. Anything we can try to resolve it ?
Echo service crashes and when trying to call an extension the app crashes right after pressing the call button.
Service is running v16 update 2

No I can't think of one. I submitted a crash report. Perhaps that can help.

It does not show the presence information grouped, all extensions appear in disarray and when there are several bridges with other PBX the chaos is total.

The extensions are sorted alphabetically by name. I don't think that constitutes disarray. You can use the search function at the top to look for groups of people....

Installed it right away. I was already able to make the previous beta work if I disabled PBX delivers audio.

Yes it works because pbx delivers audio trans-codes codecs.. (man in the middle)
It was crashing because of codec mismatch..
Anyway fixed now. So you can unbind from pbx delivers audio and it will not crash.

For the record 40 is EXACTLY identcal as 39 but with the fix for crashes on Android 7, 7.1 and in some cases 8.
Crash was not happening on 9 and above.

Thanks for the response. I'm keen on learning more on this product and our newly installed PBX. It runs great so far. What is better ? PBX delivers audio or disabled ?

Depends..

Imagine you speak Chinese and I speak Italian. If we try to talk together, we will have a hard time..

So this is why Media server can help because media server TRANSLATES for us (proxies)

Lets use this analogy and now replace the languages with audio codecs. If I come with PCMU and you come with OPUS, problem. Yes there is a codec list, And this is why the phone was crashing - No available / valid codec match. This is why binding avoids the crash

But if we agree to BOTH to speak german, (or we agree both to speak GSM or pcmu for example) then we do not need MS, so me and you can talk and send audio DIRECTLY to each other.
