Hi there,

I have been using the grandstream HT8xx atas for a while now.

I can provision them and that works well. however, I notice that the firmware is not regulated.

is it possible to make this firmware available via 3cx or is it possible that the firmware url in the provisioning template is adjusted to firmware.grandstream.com?

Perhaps i'm wrong but in memory , never recall to see ATAs having provisioning links available from 3CX, this is always manually done

Advanced -> FXS/DECT -> add FXS/DECT then i can add an Grandstream HT8xx with a provisioninslink.

Yes, you get a link, however, those devices are configured (via that template) to NEVER check for new updates or config, so it has to be done manually by uploading the XML file.

As for why the firmware isn't provided by 3CX, I suppose it's a fairly simple device and they simply recommend using the latest firmware provided by Grandstream.

Having the Firmware Path pointing to the 3CX helps keeping the HT8xx on the same version. Putting the GS server there and the ATA would update on its own, randomly, which is bad.

ah, i get it.

I just think it is a shame that 3cx does not extend the support for this device.

it is a cheap and reliable device
