Hello All,

I have a 3CX deployment (version 16.0.1581) and use Twilio as our SIP provider. As some of you may know, Twilio requires any number you want to use as a Caller ID, to be verified for ownership (that way Twilio can't be used to spoof caller id numbers). The problem is, anytime I setup an extension to forward External calls to Mobile, the call fails due to Invalid Caller ID since the phone number of the person calling the extension isn't verified through Twilio.

Is there a way to force the 3CX system to maintain our office number when transfer calls to a mobile?

In other words...strip the external caller's ID and use our standard caller ID information that is used for typical internal outbound calls?

I don't care that all the Forward to Mobile calls will show up like a call from my office instead of it being passed through.

p.s. - I tested "Ring Mobile Simultaneously" and it does not work.
p.s.s. - I have the Outbound Caller ID field left blank under the Extension.
p.s.s.s. - I have the Mobile number formatted the way Twilio likes it (+17175551234)

It will probably require a change to one outbound trunk options, specifically those dealing with caller ID (there are several). These will probably affect other calls as well (DID numbers from extensions), so be careful when making any changes. Make note of the current settings..

Are you referring to Outbound Parameters? I have been researching those and trying to figure out which ones. I've tested the "From : User Part" by changing in to a few different options, but the system reacts no different. Do I need to apply the changes in any other fashion other than clicking "OK" at the top of the page? Or do I need to disable/enable to trunk for the Outbound Parameters to take affect?

Those are the options. Off the top of my head, I seem to recall two or three different fields that can accept changes affecting the outgoing caller ID. Each providers requirements can be different. Perhaps another Forum member that uses Twilio, and is familiar with their requirements, can chime in. I'm assuming that you wish to retain the DID numbers, being sent by individual extensions, but then send the "main" trunk number when it is a forwarded call.

So when I am sitting at my desk making an outbound call, the number that appears to the person I am calling is (717-555-1234).

If I am not at my desk and I have "Forward to Mobile" appear, I am ok with the number that appears on my mobile being (717-555-1234). And I think thats what needs to happen regardless due to Twilio only being able to handle calls with verified Caller ID.

Do you send DID numbers, from extensions, or just the one , main number when placing calls? I have seen issues, with users trying to get the extension number to be sent in place of the originators caller ID. Look at through the options, I believe that there is mention of the where the number is to be taken, one mentions the originator and one the extension. It may be trial and error, to get something that works for you. As i said, there are several different fields that can be changed.

The three fields are mentioned at the beginning of this post.

If you only want to show the main office number, check that it is datafilled against the trunk as the External Number, as a start. Then you have a number of options that may need changing...These include the Remote party ID options, P-Asserted identity options and the from : User Part options. You might want to speak with you provider as they may be able to offer some advice to narrow down what needs to be changed, to show only your main number. They may also be able to do this for you.

It is very easy to "break" all ougouing calling with the incorrect options, so make note of what is there now, before changing anything..
