So, I've been tasked with setting up the following. We have extensions A, B, and C. Someone calls A, no answer. Then it forwards to B and then C.
If someone calls B and no answer, it forwards to A and then C. and so forth.
I know a ring group would do that, buy my management does not want to have a specific extension for departments, so I guess that's out.
The easy thing, I think, would be to set up a single ring group for these departments, and have the extensions forward to that. The downside, I think, would be that if A doesn't answer, it forwards to the ring group, and A would be in that ring group, so the phone could ring twice.
The hard thing I think, would be to set up a specific ring group for every single extension in the department. That would let me route exactly how they want it, but it seems insane to create all those groups. Any opinions on what may work? Thanks!
