Hello when we are setting up a free licence we get to the part were it says suggested domain ending in 3cx. miami for example if we have chosen united states as the domain group. We are asking if it is possible to use your own host and domain in place of one 3cx.miami or the better word is can we custom this to our own doman and host not ending in 3CX Thank you for the help

Hi @heshousehold,

To use Custom FQDNs, you require a PRO license and above as per our Edition Comparison here, expand the Core PBX Features section.

Once upgraded, you can release your current 3CX FQDN and reinstall then select that you have your own FQDN. It is suggested that you take a backup before, and ensure you've unchecked the FQDN box.

Wonderful thank you may I please ask so at the moment I must still use a free licence with a 3CX FQDN and create a pbx as normal. Can you then upgrade straight away to the PRO Licence. Please can you explain a little more on what is meant to release your current 3CX FQDN and reinstall just a little more clarity please

So, first, yes you can spin it up using the free license and upgrade later.

As for the FQDN: when setup, the license is bound to the FQDN it uses, whether is a 3CX one or not. So, once you upgraded, you would go into your customer portal, and "release" the FQDN in order to change it. For that, you can reinstall using a backup that excludes License+FQDN.

If you need a partner to help you with licenses and setup, let me know.

Much Appreciated . Thank you for all the help again enjoyable day
