Hey all. I'm a new user and have my 3cx setup using a RPi and SIP Trunks via Gamma in the UK. Firstly, great software :)

The one thing that I am having trouble with is full international number starting +44. When I try to make a call using national numbers staring 07xxxxxxxx the call is placed fine, but if I call the same number with +447xxxxxxxxxx, I get "Call Failed" and the call logs show the number without any prefix so just 7xxxxxxxxxx

This is happening from both Android and Windows client, so I suspect that it is a system setting I have wrong.

Apart from this, all other incoming and outgoing calls and working as expected.

Where is this going wrong?

You could indeed use E.164 processing but what you will need to do exactly will depend on the reason the call is being dropped. For instance, if the call is failing because it is not matching an Outbound Rule, you will need to modify your Outbound Rules so that it will match numbers such as 7XXXXXXXXXX. If the call is failing because the number format is not accepted by the SIP Provider, you will need to change the way the number is processed before it is sent out to the SIP Provider.

Since dialing 07XXXXXXXX works, I'd recommend disabling E.164 completely, and then creating Outbound Rules to look something like this:

1. Prefix: +44 Strip Digits: 3 Prepend: 0
2. Prefix: 0044 Strip Digits: 4 Prepend: 0
3. Prefix: 0 Strip Digits: 0 Prepend: "Nothing"
4. Prefix 1-9 Strip Digits: 0 Prepend: 0

The order of the Outbound rules is important as you need numbers dialed including the country code to be checked first. You may also want to adjust them or add more restrictions to them such as Number length, or extension conditions so that they suit your needs and PBX usage.

You might want to consider checking out our training material regarding Outbound Rules for more information: https://www.3cx.com/3cxacademy/videos/advanced/configuring-outbound-routing/

Make sure your SIP provider is also not blocking the calls for rate charges.

@ChrisC_3CX Thanks for the update, however the solution from @leejor got me in the right track.... I just needed a 0 in the "National Code" field and everything is now working as expected. :)
