General Question to 3cx

Hello,

We are quite new to 3cx and have a self hosted professional edition.

So we have one queue (is our main number), when there calls somebody it rings at 3 user at the same time.
In our office we have 4 phones, but we have flexibel desks.

So how can i handle that? People are not always sitting on the same desk. Is there a way to quick login on our snom d717 phones?

Currently I added another User "Office", which rings on the queue and i added the BLE of all working people here so that they can pickup every call. But is this the right way to do something like that?

You could always use hotdesking - https://www.3cx.com/docs/hot-desking/

Or use 3cx apps.

3CX Does only work with some modells or with all? I have snom D717

The supported phones of 3CX are defined at https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

The snom D717 is a supported phone and can do hot desking. Check the guide and at the bottom if a device has any limitations, these will be listed.

And if i do not want to use hot desking. Is it the right way to configure a user "Office"? Which is provisioned on the office phone?

Hi,

IMHO hot-desking is slow and clunky as requires the user to remember a long string of numbers to log in and also requires a reboot and some patience. I would suggest you just add each phone to the queue and then just add BLFs to sign in and out of the Q.

Alternatively, you could switch to softphones and give everyone a headset and have them log into 3CX on their PC. Softphones are a much better way to hot desk.

This ultimately is the easiest way.

This is only on the 1st provisioning. The snoms (which is the topic of this thread) do not reboot and they provision instantly.
