Hello!

I'm planning on a 3CX PBX implementation for a small business. I'll use roughly 10 Yealink phones, host in the business as we have a spare PC that's not being used, and the business is already setup with 5 static IP's.

The old business had 3 lines. The owner is asking me what costs, especially recurring he should be expecting.

I told him I expect it to be much less than any contracted service an installer will come setup, but it's time to figure out more precise numbers.

What all am I looking at?

Edit 1: So far, the only recurring cost I can see is the SIP Trunking service, which it seems would be (roughly) $15/mo per line metered and $25 unmetered. So My guess is I'm looking at $75/mo for their three lines if I want them all unlimited. Is that the only recurring cost? Are there other SIP Trunk services for less than $25/mo?

Edit 2: There's no cost per extension right? Everything I've researched so far implies that extensions are more or less unlimited, only really restricted by how many phones you want to physically buy and install. Am I understanding this incorrectly?

Since you are gonna host it on-premise, beside SIP trunks (and a license if you buy one, renewable yearly), there's no other charges.

I can't speak to the pricing you got but AFAIK, metered trunk are rarely that expensive... Who's the provider you looked at?

Have you looked at the list of supported trunk providers for your country? https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/

Exactly. The only limit on extensions amount is the number of digits you use. 3 will give you around 999, 4 around 9999 (except system extensions, obviously.)

To learn more on the pricing and what size to buy, see here: https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/

Hi @mgiara,

Remember that if you require assistance with regards to your project, 3CX Partners (@ConceptsWeb happens to be a very knowledgeable one) are available to assist with licensing and more!

There isn't a cost per extension which was already mentioned. As a guide, we suggest 1SC (Simultaneous Call) per 3 users as normally not everyone is on the phone at the same time, unless in the case of a call center. You may well want to also run a trial of 3CX for the company by asking a 3CX Partner to create a POC (Proof of Concept) key which will allow you to trial the PRO / ENT editions with as many SC as your setup will require. This can be a great value add for your customer.
