We are looking to migrate from a freeswitch/FusionPBX setup to 3CX and I'm working on initial testing, and I've hit my first road block. We have quite a few DIDs with our current trunking provider, however they are not a "supported" provider. I see that in the manual under SIP-Trunks that there should be a "generic" option, but that doesn't exist in our hosted trial of 3CX. Is this something that's only available in self-hosted 3CX? Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Really appreciate it!

On Hosted by 3CX, you cannot use unsupported trunks (including generics) nor IP-based ones.

But this is allowed if we host 3CX ourselves? I wonder if there's any page or document that lists any other difference between the two, would you know? Thanks for your reply.

I'm just not looking forward to trying to port 49 DIDs.

Self-host is better. I would still recommend going with a supported trunk provider to ease the setup and ongoing support.

If you need a partner to assist, DM us.

If/when you do host your own server, you have to select the country of Generic to see the generic trunk options.
