Hi

We are looking at moving new cloud deployments of 3CX to Google cloud.
I have looked at the pricing and found it tricky to calculate what the cost would be.
Our current Cloud provider has a pricing model that is fixed per core, GB RAM, storage etc. and doesn't attract time or volume based usage costs.

Does anyone have a simple way or some real world examples of Google's pricing?

I have estimated a small deployment to cost about $20 - $30 per month but this seems cheap

I don't want to move to Google and find our costly suddenly spiral :D

Cheers

One thing I do know about Google is that if you are not completely utilising the capacity of your device it will recommend you an adjusted server, so if you have over-spec'd don't worry too much.

Another point is that their network latency is probably one of the best I have seen from a provider - obviously however it is Google!

We have a deployment of about 40 phones with 16SC.

Our costs, including bandwidth, run at about $20 per month.

Make sure you provision to the correct region or you will pay more for bandwidth and have increased latency.

Our machine size is 'small' which I find about right. You can get away with a free 'micro' instance if you live in the correct regions and add some swap space but you will be nagged to upgrade it to 'small' now and again. In my experience, if your machine is underspecified Google have a low threshold for nagging you to upgrade it but if you're overspecified they don't rush to say tell you to downgrade.

There are committed use discounts available too.

Google usually offer free introductory credit which was enough for us to run the server for free for the first year.

That's great thanks guys.
I am currently using the free introduction for a test server, which works fine even though I did not pick the nearest data centre (still Europe though)

If hosting for a number of Customers on GCP, would it be best practice to have a seperate Project per Customer/Instance or lump all the 3CX Instances under a single Project?
I know there are limits to the number of Projects you can create?

Sorry, can't help you there - we only have the one install

What did you end of doing for multiple customers? I have the same decision to make.

Thanks,

Chaz

I have still not made a decision, but I have to soon I have 5 to deploy shortly.

I will probably put them all in 1 Project

That's what I did. I think they want you to that, as you can only have 10 projects before you need to pay more.

That was my thinking also
