Have read lots of posts on firmware and seems to be a lot of back and forth on this issue. No new Grandstream phones deliver with a supported firmware version for 3CX. They are all newer and cannot be downgraded. Why is there such a delay and the 3CX is so far behind. I am having issues with GXP2170 phones. What is the newest version for hosted 3CX for these phones that people are using without issues? Thanks.

To clarify I mean the newest unsupported version as they can’t be downgraded.

Hi Craig,

We are working with the manufacturer to have them test their latest firmware on the latest Update 6 of 3CX.

Once the testing passes, we will be able to release the new firmware that covers both old and new revisions of the phones.

I don't have an ETA for this, they will probably be released per model family as the testing completes.

Thank you for this information. I am glad to hear it is progresssing. In the meantime is there any advice from you or anyone else on the best version to be on. I am on the .45 firmware version now and have a lot of issues.

For the meantime there isn't much that can be done since you can only "up"-grade from where your model revision is now, and they are already running an unsupported version from a 3CX standpoint anyway so maybe you can try manually upgrading them to 1.0.11.64 which is the stable Grandstream offers on their website. (ie. try it on one single device and see how it goes for a while)

I imagine they will provide us with that version or higher when the time comes. Read their release notes to see if they fixed any specific issues that you were facing.

They are gxp2170 phones

Just an update on this...the supported version of firmware for this phone is from March of 2021, almost two years since any update from 3CX. This "testing" process seems to be ridiculously slow for a supported series of phones

So today I had a new install with GRP2615 phones.
After 2 hours of trouble shooting I found this article and the new phones out of the box are on firmware 1.0.9.xx.
I was able to download firmware 1.0.7.33 and downgrade these phones.
This worked for me and after installing the older firmware and the phones rebooting I was able to provision them.
3CX needs to find a way to support the new firmware. I am glad this was only an 11 phone install and not a large install otherwise it would take days to login and update each phone.

I have a similar issue with Grandstream door phone GDS3705 Hardware Version 3.1a. 3CX state that this door phone is supported however it lists a firmware version (from 2019) that is only supported on older hardware versions (1.1-1.4) of this device. The lowest firmware this device will allow is 1.0.1.21 due to its hardware version. The door phone keeps disconnecting and when it does work it sometimes fails to accept DTMF tones and open the door. It was only installed as it was listed on the 3CX supported list and is now cause no end of trouble. Can any one recommend an alternative or suggest when 3CX will look at supporting current hardware version of their supported devices list.

Hello. Can anyone on the 3CX team advise if there is an update on when the newer firmware for a GXP2170 phone will be supported?
