Hello Everyone
First of all thanks for stopping by and taking the time to help.We have 3cx hosted instance and have 2 Grandstream DS3710s installed through STUN and in the begining there were a lot of issues with the doorphones .Grandstream Tech Support and us , we spent a lot of hours capturing the traffic and Ggrandstream Tech Support took that capture to lab and did research and number of times they did troubleshoot and finally it was fixed after few months back n forth .The problem and annoying part is that once the doorphone call is answered by someone than thye press 5 to open the door , there is about 10 seconds delay, it is annyoing cause some visitors will wait the for the BEEP (because they have experience) but others as soon as they finish talking , they tend to push the door open.Anyone have any experice on this type application or recommend something else they have used in the past . Again thanks for your time :)

Hi,

So was the issue solved in the end after contacting Grandstream?

Hi John

Since this place is not open to public and this is the head office for my client so there are not much traffic for visitors and the people that work in the building has card access which i have integrated with PARADOX card access control system. So to answer to your question is i would say YES because in the beginning it was worst but now they have never complained to me and also Grandstream has programmed the doorphones so that they reboot every week at midnight. This place is open 247 because of the nature of the business .

I imagine the button press doesn't take 10 seconds to arrive, otherwise you would have had even bigger problems (the voice would also be 10 seconds late!).

If I understand correctly, you are saying that the GDS takes too long to send the unlock signal to the door relay.

This is not something that will be related to 3CX, or the extension, or even SIP in general. It sounds like a hardware issue (or configuration / wiring issue perhaps). I think Grandstream support is the only one that can really help you in this case, since they will be in a better position to troubleshoot what the device does once the button-press arrives.

So far we have not noticed such behavior on any of the doorphones.

Hi John
Thanks for quick response ,sorry about the misunderstanding,it is my fault it didn't explain properly.Yes there is delay when 5 i pressed from the answering phone ,to the relay but you are right the audio is fine.you think it is worth to try to provision it through the SBC ?

If it works ok now, I say leave it as is. If the problem comes back then yes, switch to SBC.

You should also make sure that the power delivery is good (especially if using PoE).

Bad power delivery (or wiring) might potentially cause problems with the door relays.

Hi John
As far as the call in concerned , i works fine now but for the relay is has gotten worst since the customer changed/upgraded their card access control system from KANTECH to PARADOX . It was 7 seconds delay before but now it is 10 seconds delay.Even more annyoing.Yes i ll open this same ticket and see if Grandstream can help again and try one more time before switching to Fanvil door hone .Because this is customer is growing and and i m told to install 3rd doorphone asap :)
