Yes, I can confirm that it definitely does fix the lost registration issue.
But I started having an issue where the phones would intermittently not answer an incoming call from a ring group (all other phones would continue to ring like the handset was never picked up). I tried EVERYTHING I could possibly think of: replacing SBC, moved from SBC to direct SIP, numerous tweaks to networking/3CX, replaced switch, ethernet cables, ect
And after doing a plethora of research on these phones and reading the constant complaints of bad firmware (going back to 2018). I even found my exact issue that was eventually fixed by a firmware update.

So why the hell is it happening again?
So I replaced one of the Grandstreams with a Yealink T29G cuz the customer had just had it with this intermittent issue. And guess what? ALL problems disappeared. Call quality and delay drastically improved.
Even when the Grandstream would answer, there was always a 2 second delay from when you got the phone to your ear to when you could talk. So you had to delay your "Hello this is xyz company"
When I installed the Yealink, it worked like a phone is supposed work: answers incoming calls 100% of the time, no delay during the answer, no delay while talking. The customer said he didnt even bring up delay because he thought that was just was the deal with IP phones.
Well im here to say that its just the deal with these Grandstreams. And the deal is they are HOT GARBAGE. If I cant resell them Ill be more than happy to just throw them in the trash. I may even do just that to make myself feel better as opposed to passing on the problems to someone else.
I know replacing the phones is expensive, but when I factored in all the time Ive spent chasing all these little problems here and there and on top of it all sacrificing my reputation with this client, its worth every penny.
