I'm not sure if/why Grandstream seems to have issues, or has otherwise fallen out of favor, but this has been breaking my OCD for over a year now:
Any notions on when/if this may ever get fixed, or should I just tamper with the config file until it works like for the WP820?

Hi,
The "Not Supported" message is under the firmware column.
This means that newer firmware has arrived and is ready to install.
Tick to select the phones you want to upgrade, then click on the "
+ Firmware" button that you see on top.
As soon as they complete the upgrade the OCD shall be cured

Stay away from that. Not supported and Grandstream is not interested in supporting it either.
