Grandstream PRI Gateway GXW4501

Hello,

Has anyone tried this gateway with success? Theoretically, it should work fine even if not supported but since nothing besides Beronet is really supported nowadays and it's hard to get in Canada, im stuck with Grandstream, Yeastar and Patton.

Yeastar TE100 was good, worked pretty flawlessly but my supplier stopped carrying the brand.

Pattons are expensive

Grandsteam is right in the ballpark cost wise to make sense.

Have you looked at the Patton SN 4171 (single port PRI gateway) this is a Trinity release which will be fully supported next month (templates are available now) they are considerably cheaper than the previous smartware devices I am lead to believe.

The SN 4970A is the enterprise Patton Trinity variant available if you need more ports, it supports B2BUA feature and high precision clock if needed also.

I know Grandstream does normally come in miles cheaper than anyone else but and you may pay a little extra for the Patton but in my opinion what you lose in cost you gain in quality and reliability.

Any PRI gateway should work fine. I typically go with Patton because they just work and their support is good, but they are pricy. I've deployed the TE100 and aside from the very obvious Chinese documentation (think early Yealink or current Fanvil) it's been working fine. We generally try to hang on to used PRI gateways because they are typically only installed until we can transition folks over to SIP. I have a Sangoma one still in the box that I'm sure will work if I need to put it in play.
