Grandstream WP820 / vlan id

Hi

i m trying to put a WP820 wifi phone in a wifi network with a vlan id. There seem to be no option in the phone gui to set the vlan.

i tried various things with DHCP option 43 and 132 but nothing works.

someone manage to use that phone in a vlan ?

Since there is to my knowledge no provisioning template for this model you cannot provision this in the template, if it does not support an entry within the phone menu then you should (depending on your network infrastructure) be able to use VLAN 802.1q VLAN tags and LLDP-MED for voice VLAN.

I use HP Aruba switches and this auto configures all the phone into the voice VLAN with tag without any manual intervention on the device or PBX.

Have you enabled dhcp vlan on the device - page 27 - http://www.grandstream.com/sites/default/files/Resources/DHCP_Options_Guide_Windows_Server.pdf

Grandstream has a template for it. You just need to ask as a Partner.

Yes, I was referring to in-built 3CX Supported template with the PBX.

Vendor template are usually reliable, you just need to add them into the correct folder on the PBX, there is not a WiFi phone area (as there are none supported) so at a guess would say just stick it in as a standard phone - since these act as endpoints and do not have a base (like DECT).

I've got a WP820 working on a voice VLAN. From memory it just picks up the VLAN ID from a DHCP option and then reboots with that VLAN ID set in order to obtain a valid DHCP address on the voice VLAN.

Just checked - I have DHCP option 132 set to 100 (which is the VLAN ID). As far as I can recall, that is all that was required - ensuring that an SSID is set up to also use VLAN 100
