We are a group of friends who are planning a Europe tour next month. Since we will be away from our families for almost a month, we will all need prepaid cards to keep in touch with home and keep them informed about our movements. Which prepaid cards are good enough to be used?

Prepaid phone cards, purchased overseas can vary substantially from country to country. Many can only be used within one country. If you happen to have an unlocked tri or quad band GSM phone you can buy SIMs that will work in multiple countries, the outgoing rate won't be as low as a phone card but it allows people to reach you in an emergency and text messages aren't as expensive as a voice call. I would do a check of some of the travel sites for recommendations on the particular places you plan to visit.
