A customer sent me an e-mail yesterday afternoon saying that their text messaging was not working again; I’ve been having problems with their text messaging ever since they upgraded to version 18. Anyways I have the text messages working again however, their main number goes to a ring group. But after hours it's set to go to a group mailbox. By group mailbox, I have an ext. sent up to receive calls from the ring group if no one is available to answer and then it emails the office manager then she forwards to the appropriate party.

Yesterday evening I discovered a good bit of text messages from yesterday that were landing in the group mailbox instead of going to the appropriate extension that originally sent the message. I believe I have all of the messages flowing correctly although when the system switches to after hours the text messages go nowhere. There's probably something I'm missing and there's probably a better way to do this. This particular customer only has five employees with five extensions. Would direct numbers for each employee fixed this? I'm very open to ideas on the best way to simplify this. Thanks, everyone!

This is 3CX hosted 18.0 Update 7 (Build 312)Version

So when they have in office hours both calls and messages go to the ring group correct?
And for out of office you can route the calls to a digital receptionist that will route the messages back to the ring group and calls to the voicemail extension.
You will need to configure the Digital receptionist via the webclient to achieve that.

What worries me is this:
Yesterday evening I discovered a good bit of text messages from yesterday that were landing in the group mailbox instead of going to the appropriate extension that originally sent the message
This should not happen. If someone has an active conversation with someone else all SMS messages should route back to the originator. Make sure that the conversations are still active between the user and the customer and have not been "dealt with".
