Attempting to set up a GXW4104 on V20 but running into issues. Following the instructions here (https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/configuring-voip-gateway/) I can get the gateway to show as connected in 3CX, however;
  1. Incoming calls are answered by the gateway, the caller hears ringing, then dialtone, likely generated by the GXW4104.
  2. Outbound calls go to the GXW4104 but dialed numbers are not passed to the PSTN lines, and the PSTN dial-tone is audible, if the number is dialed again the outbound call is established.
I suspect this is has something to do with some PSTN options, but I can't find any reference material on what those options should be or where they would be in the gateway. All of the other times I've installed these gateways 3CX has generated the config file for the units, and the provisioning URL was used to deliver the configs. It apprears this functionality was either removed or has not yet been implemented in V20, but this is just speculation on my part.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi @Jesse Amos ,

Regarding 1, from this older doc: https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/grandstream-fxo/#h.5fp2r1uyj3yq have you added the 0000X DIDs and assigned them, or set the default route to be going somewhere and not End Call?

More generally if you visit this thread https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/grandstream-fxo/ there is useful info and you should be able to get more assistance there.

Best,
KS.
Yes, I have defined the DID's 000000 and 000001 for the two analog lines and directed them to a ring group. Doing a capture to the system while calling the lines does not show any traffic between the gateway and 3CX.

I'll check out the other thread and see if there is any info useful to this situation.

For the first issue....incoming calls actually "forward" to the trunk number on 3CX, at least, that is what they are supposed to do, so keep that in mind when looking at the gateway options.

The second dialtone, at least on outbound calls, probably means the gateway is not set to one stage dialing. Although they may use a different term, on that device.

Outbound calls I've got sorted. I copied the FXO settings from a V18 system and that got outbound calls working

Inbound calls however do not make it to 3CX. I've got my Q-Linx Lan probe between the gateway and the network and can see all traffic coming and going from the system. When I call the analog line in there is no traffic whatsoever coming out of the GXW4104. What I hear calling from my cellphone is 2 rings, then dial tone as soon as the grandstream picks up. I'm about to try a call from another system and capture that call to get at least some idea of what is going on, but suspect it is something else inside the gateway that used to be set by the generated cofigs in previous version.

The gateway should be doing an immediate forward, of the call, to the trunk number @ the 3CX IP.
While this link is a bit out of date and the screen shots may reflect an older version of the gateway, I suspect if you go down to the Step 2 section, then down to line 7, that may a good place to start.
