help with 3cx relaiability

I am Having a problem with the voice is not stable, so some calls one party is hearing, another call the other party is the one who hears, a third connection both parties are ok, I captured a log from a call that both parties couldn't hear each others even the connection is done sucsessfully

I am talking about 2 external extensions 3cx Version3.1.2434.0 with static ip 209.124.188.150
Stun is setup on both parties and the server to stun.3cx.com
I am using HT-503 both ends, both of them are defined as external and are not bind to the media server ( it is a must because I don't have much bandwidth on my server) all ports has been opened as per the forum and the manual, I can do alot of sucsessfull calls. but my problem that it is not reliable ! I hope I can find some answers or guidance

I am using G.723 does it make any problem?

Another question is I see the calls RTPs been setup some times on high ports such as sip1:62332 to sip2:62222 even the HT-503 are locked on the 5004 or 5012 RTPs, I hope I can get more details on that

Unless you have extensions binded to media server using G723 codec is not a problem even thoug you receive that message on the logs, i, myself use G729 and i get all calls to go through without any problem.
You can try thoug to bind both extensions to media server, use G711 codec and see if the problem still persists.

I tried to bind to media server but no success!

is there any guranteed solution for the NAT routers( I mean should I but a STUN server) or keep using the public STUNs?


What does this mean? is it related to the g723?what codecs are supported by 3cxphonesystem?

This sounds like a network configuration issue. Also note that its your VOIP provider that will determine sound quality. We dont support G723. Be sure to use a supported VOIP provider, and use G711. If you need G729, you can go for the commercial edition.
