New to 3CX and learning.....SIP provider up and connected.

Have a Grandstream DP750 with DP720 handset that I am attempting to make work. Understand that this is not an officially supported phone but searching through forum seems that others with this setup have it working. I followed one of the posts to download and apply the template for the DP750. I can see the 750 as a phone in my list of phones (although the font is in RED).

How do i go about getting the handset working as an extension?

Also now that the 3CX has found the 750 - it appears to have changed the login credentials to directly log into the 750. Where do I find those values?

3cx would only change the password if a template was applied.
What extension was the template assigned to under Provisioning?
If you see it in the phone tab - double click it. This should bring you to the extension - and under provisioning, you should have a password for the device.

I just manually set it from from start to finish - no template.
It took 5 minutes and works fine.

Hello @JArt69

I would recommend using a supported device to avoid any manual configuration or future compatibility issues. You can find the list of supported devices here: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/
The password for a provisioned phone can be found under extension settings / Phone Provisioning tab / Phone Web Page Password.

So if you have the DP750 base provisioned, then pairing the DP720 handset is not a 3CX function but a Grandstream function. I'd suggest reading the manual for that part.
