Hey everybody
I want to migrate quite a few 3CX from digital ocean to Hetzner cloud cause of lower price and I will make the install using 3CX net install iso.
I would like to ask if that move is compliant with 3CX support. If I use the ISO to make the install, will I still have the support from 3CX?
I know that Hetzner is not a supported cloud provider but it’s the same procedure like having my own hyper-v or VMware server.
Correct?
Thank you

not really

So far, we are aware of four key differences:
  1. we only use Intel shared vCPU instances such as the CX22, CX32 etc.
although the problematic type of AMD virtualization has changed in the last months and someone told us that these are also possible now, but the price/performance ratio for 3CX usage isn't favorable for us and we haven't tested it since then with them
  2. we use the Falkenstein virtualization location (there have been proven to be occasional routing issues with the Nuremberg location when using 3CX for a long time)
  3. we avoid using IP from the segment 157.90.0.0/16
  4. there may be a known hint during the installation - you have to manually assign the gateway:
    https://docs.hetzner.com/cloud/servers/iso-installation-gateway
There has been a lively exchange of experiences in the last years especially in the German forum and that's roughly what you should know about.

I have created 4 PBXs to test Hetzner. All of them are installed via netinstall ISO file without problem with gateway!
I use FSN because the NBG gives me back an HTTP error while uploading the backup file.
I also use only Intel CPU CX22 or CX32.
So far no problem at all!

Hello johnvam,

I have a PBX hosted by 3CX. I would like to migrate to hetzner VPS. Do you know if I can continue to use the FQDN provided by 3CX?
This will solve problems with cert renoval etc.

You need to use the existing FQDN, or else would need to start over. The restore will restore the license and FQDN.

Thank you for the confirmation.

I was able to recreate the VPS in Finland as the only place with intel CPU and was able to upload my backup.
With Nuremberg and AMD I had the 400 error trying to recover the backup.

Using the old FQDN and backup eveything was up and running again. I hope with this configuration the FQDN and SSL certificate are renewed by 3CX.

Never tought that it will be so easy.
