Hide Extensions

Is there a way to hide extensions so they no longer show up on the panel? We do not remove users for historical purposes so I would like to be able to hide them so they no longer show up. I have done all the disable and hide functions on the admin panel I can find, but they still show up.

Please explain this. Someone leaves the company, yet you keep their extension/ listing around for old times sake?
