that link is outdated based on the current script available on the store, like you dont need to change destinationDN and the wav file doesn't need to be the same name as the holiday name
I believe this is the correct link
https://www.3cx.com/blog/call-flow-scripts/holiday-prompt/

basically:
-add holiday.cs from the store and set it when receiving a call to a trunk (if you have multiple trunks I think you have to add another holiday.cs script and assign the other trunk)
-configure the holiday in the department(s) you need and add the audio file.
-configure the route "when on holiday" of the various destinations assigned to your trunk DIDs to whatever you want to do (End call probably or voicemail or whatever, otherwise the call will follow the normal flow)

This is just the manual and not the actual script. The actual script will be in the store.

To answer TOs question:

If you use the 3CX store script holiday.cs as described: Admin / Integrations / Call Scripts / Add from Store. But I think you know that already ;)

The script works for scenario's that are in call handling (Ring Groups, Queues and IVR's). Here you have the much needed routing option: when on holiday route to. In my case end call is fine. I'm missing this option for direct calls to a user's DID. The prompt will play but straight after the user's extension will still ring during office hours (or follow the out of office rules when outside of office hours). There will be users how forgot to loggof their app and will be reachable (bothered) on christmas. Anyone else running into this issue or am I missing something?

A return true; after the .Unwrap(); in the original 3CX holiday.cs line 71 may be a solution: all calls and played audio on holiday for all did on the trunk ends there.

I think changing this to true will stop call routing even if no holiday is configured. I was looking for some clarification on the API code. My first thought was to add call routing to a system extension after the prompt completes. This could be an IVR that simply has end call but would offer other options as well. Has anybody found some documentation that could help?

No, it just stops right after the audio plays.

No documentation is needed for this. The code is really not very complicated. It's all there.

Maybe for a C# dev. For someone random, no it's not easy nor clear.

I’m definitely not a programmer, and we don’t need to discuss what is apparent to one person and not to another.

However, if someone can’t read this, doesn’t understand the original 3CX instructions and guidelines, but still wants to know more, they should just ask for an explanation of the code from, for example, ChatGPT. The output is extensive. Just give it a try.
