Hello,

Currently experimenting with Office Holidays in 3CX v20 Update 4. Created the new holiday, assigned a custom prompt, then discovered it doesn't work as expected. The phone system accepts the test inbound call, puts it on a holiday route, but doesn't play the prompt associated and switches directly to Voicemail Box instead. The only workaround appears to be enabling the 'Play Announcement' option, yet the one is not synchronized with the Office Holiday prompt.

Sure thing I checked 3CX forum already, but the only hint I found is a link to 'Configuring Holiday Prompts' article on 3cx.com. With that text in mind, the question appears: what's the sense in assigning the prompt to office holiday if the probably only way to play it is a kludge named Call Processing Script?

Agreed. If there's an option to assign a prompt to a defined holiday in the department, AND the inbound call is being detected as during a holiday period (because obviously the "when on holiday" route is being detected, then it should be a no brainer for 3CX to PLAY THE PROMPT defined on the holiday entry for the department.

Why require messing around with a script?
If you toggle the "Play announcement" and set the same damn prompt there as defined under the holiday definition, it plays...

Utter ridiculous logic on 3CX's part.

You seem to be on a crusade, as this is the 2nd thread about the holidays. Your concerns and the logic of the holidays have been explained on the other thread.

Mr. NicholasP... you send me a DM stating my post was "abusive, overly aggressive, threatening, or to troll" and then didn't allow me to respond to the DM??

No, I'm not on a crusade. I was looking for answers to a topic and replied on threads I found, expressing an opinion. Look at the timestamps on both posts, you'll see they were made minutes apart.

You only JUST "explained on the other thread"... and then saw this thread and decided to post your none sense.

Was this reply also aggressive?
Expressing an opinion is something 3CX doesn't appreciate or have time to review?

Can I have a manager contact me, thanks.
