I have upgraded phones before and not had a problem, but I do now. I am going from a Galaxy S7 to a Galaxy S21+ It wants to use the frustrating QR code system. I have an old email with a QR code, but when I scan it, I get an error 502. So first question is what is that error and do I just need to send myself another code somehow? And next, it would be much easier for me if I could just find a folder on my S7, copy it to the same place on the new phone, and have it just open up with all my settings (5 different test sip trunks and the 3CX extension for my desk). Can anyone tell me the procedure for using something like ES File Explorer or something else with the phone connected to my laptop with an OTG cable? Thanks!

Fred

Not sure you can copy the files directly. Specially since you talk of SIP trunks and 1 3CX extension. It doesn't make much sense.

the best is to send yourself a new Welcome Email (login into the Webclient, click your picture in upper-right and click "Resend Credentials". You'll get an email with a new QR code that should work. The old one was probably too old.

Thanks for your answer. We provide SIP services and controls called TeleTools for programmers. They allow people to easily add telephony (dialers, caller ID screen pop, call center apps, etc.) to their applications. We use the 3CX as our internal PBX, but we also have SIP Trunks that we use for testing and need a softphone. So on my 3CX phone on the laptop and on my phone, I have multiple profiles. The main profile is my desk extension to the 3CX. For the other extensions, I go to our web based provider software and create what is pretty much like what 3CX can do, I create an extension at a domain and give it a password. Then I create another profile with those credentials to be able to connect to that. So my laptop can be number 555-1000 and phone be 555-2000.

Then I can take a test application, like an IVR running on my laptop, and call it from my cell and play with it. I have it setup on my laptop and on my Galaxy S7 right now. I just don't know where the folders are where these setting live. Clearly, the app must be stored somewhere and looking for its data somewhere. For some reason, the Samsung wifi direct cloning sofware didn't get the 3CX app. So maybe I can see if google backup or some other utility can copy it over (I still have the old phone) or I can use ES File explorer to copy the files (if I just knew the folder) and paste them into the same folder on the new phone and it should see it. Maybe if I get a new QR Code and get it to at least start with my PBX connection, I can add the other accounts back manually. My QR Code from 2 years ago doesn't work.

I said above what to do to get a new QR code.

As for the files, there's a good chance they are stored in the protected data and not on the "internal" storage of your phone. If so, you won't be able to get to them unless you root your device, which is obviously not recommended.
