How do I apply a custom template

I'm struggling to find out how I apply a custom phone template to Yealink T54W and T46U phones via 3CX v20.

I need to change the order of the softkeys whilst talking in a call so that the End Call button appears first on the left as the most recent update to 3CX has now added a "Shield Off" button that has gone and pushed the End call button off to a second screen.

I understand that if the PBX is 3CX hosted, that we can't apply custom templates. So I have gone and moved from 3CX hosted to an alternate cloud host. However... I still can;t see how I apply the custom template I've made.

I created a copy of the yealinkT5x.ph.xml phone template. Modified the copy as editing is disabled on the built in templates. How do I now apply the modified template to the required phones? All the instructions I can see in the 3CX support / doco refers to V18.

Thanks. Yes. Familiar with that location. But I can't change an existing template in there. I can only make a copy of the existing templates then make changes to the copy. My problem is how do I then use that custom (copied) template against my phones?

Thats the way to go... You need to upload the copy and delete your phone. Than reprovision it with the new template.

Ok. Cool.

Then thats the next part of my problem. At no point during the provisioning of the phone do I see an option to use the custom template. I choose the model of the phone, enter the MAC address, go to add it, choose for it to be a direct (router phone) and save. Again. No option comes up to all me to use the custom template.

Where you choose the model, there you have to choose the custom template.

Yes, forum showed me the black bar that there was new posts in thread as I was clicking. Serves me right for opening a browser tab and then going to make coffee
