The codecs available through 3CX allow for HD calls but the requirements to upload audio files (such as sampling rate) severely cut down on the quality of the audio. Is there way to set an HD voicemail greeting or upload HD hold music?

There is a very specific format required for audio files and it is what is mentioned here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/converting-wav-file/

There is no way to change this and anything else won't work. I can only recommend that you make sure the quality of the original audio file is acceptable before proceeding to convert it for 3CX.

Hi Chris,

the sound quality for on hold music is since years very poor and we need the possiblities to upload on Hold music with better quality. So we have G.722 HD Codec but poor quality with on Hold music. So it does not fit together. When will this be possible to do that?

Hi @bit101,

I cannot speak for 3CX, but I think this is unlikely to change any time soon. It would require a significant rewrite of the media service. For now, you will have to stick with the required format. You will find, if you are careful about the audio you choose, that the sound quality can be quite acceptable. For example, the default on-hold music sounds fine (although one may prefer a different song). Keeping the audio simple certainly helps.
