Solved How does a client know if it is in or out of office?

Hi,
How does a Windows, IoS or Android client know if it is in office or out of office? I mean how does the client know to use My Location - In Office address or Out of Office address (FQDN)?
The 3CX passes all firewall tests. 5001, 5060, 5090 ports are open and redirect to 3CX server.
I have a windows client installed on a laptop that registers when connected to local LAN (same LAN that the 3CX sever is on). At home, I connect via VPN to my network and the start the client. The client will not register. I tried not using VPN and the client still will not register.
How to proceed?

The client will try to use the LAN IP and then the FQDN.

Whichever one answers first will connect.

If you are are on a VPN, the client should be able to reach the PBX internal IP and register. If not, then does that specific VPN indeed allow you to reach the PBX?

If it does not register even without the VPN, then is the PBX truly reachable from that PC? Does the PC DNS resolve your FQDN correctly so that the client can reach it and try to register?

Your PBX logs should show if the client made a request, if not then you probably have a network issue that keeps the two from finding each other
