How does HA work when call recording archiving is being used? Should the location for archiving be the same for both ie a shared location?

The restore of the failover system would bring the remote archiving options with it, so yes it should be the same so both systems can access the repository of recordings.

Yes since they are identical the recordings will be visible, however you need to always ensure the most recent backup restore to get the database entries.

When one server or node used to archive call recordings is unavailable due to an outage or technical problem, another server automatically takes over and provides access to the archived data. This is usually done using clustering or other HA technologies. Regarding the archiving location, a common location or the same archiving location is not necessary.
