How to apply custom phone template with discovered phones?

How can I apply custom template with discovered phones?

The issue I run into is I created a custom template for a phone with an existing template.
When I now go to the Extensions > Phone Provisioning tab and do Add I can select my template from the model list.
When I go to Phones and choose a discovered phone I can choose to Add or Assign an extension, but I don't get the option to select the custom template/model.
Is there a way to change the template after assigning an extension or will there be an update to choose a template if multiple templates exist for discovered model?

There is no way of changing the template when one has been assigned,

You need to manually create the extension first, using mac code , select your custom template.

Factory default your phone, and assign it to the newly created extension.

Oke, but will there be some future feature to assign the template on the disovered phones or will I never be able to use Phone discovery/PNP feature if I have a custom template?

This is something we are not aware off at the moment. You could post this as a feature request on https://www.3cx.com/community/forums/3cx-ideas/ . All posts are reviewed by their corresponding Departments and, if feasible and voted for by other users as well, may be implemented in an upcoming service pack or update.
