Anyone know the correct way to backup your SBC? do you backup the entire virtual machine of the SBC? Is there a configuration you can backup of the SBC? then if the SBC goes down for some reason, you can spin up another SBC and restore the configuration? kinda like the 3cx server does it? please advise best way to backup SBC.

thank you

You dont need a backup. To spinup a new sbc is really fast.

The easiest way is to install first SBC and check that it connects, switch it off. Install it again on the second device using the same SBC ID you've used for the first one and leave it running.

So if the SBC goes down. I spin up a new one. do i just add the new one to the 3cx? then reboot the phone and everything should connect to the new SBC or do I need to remove each phone and readd it to use the new SBC?

so you are saying just spin up another SBC and use the same SBC ID as the old one. Don't I need to connect the new SBC to the 3cx? After connected to the 3cx all phone needed to be rebooted and they will connect to the new SBC? is this what i'm hearing?

Yes. Makes sense to connect it just once to make sure it is OK as I described.
Also I would emulate a fault and swap the SBCs while phones are hooked up to the "dead" device just to test the whole process.

If the new SBC uses the same IP it should just work (this is what the HA cluster does). If different, in 3CX you can reconnect the phones to the new SBC.
