Hello all,
we recently completed our first 3CX installation for a client but there's 1 item we couldn't figure out just yet.
Our client is a retail shop and has a 'professional' and a 'consumer' department which both have different opening hours.
The client has only 1 public number.
Opening hours 'professional' department:
Mon-fri: 07:00 - 18:00
Opening hours 'consumer' department:
Mon-fri: 08:00 - 12:00 & 13:00 - 18:00
Sat: 08:00 - 16:00
The IVR structure is as follows:
Press 1 for 'professional'
Press 2 for 'consumer'
Press 3 ... not relevant for this thread
For now, we configured ring groups which obviously ring a group of phones depending on the choice made at the IVR structure.
We configured the opening hours at a global level in settings as following:
Mon-fri: 07:00 - 18:00
Sat: 08:00 - 16:00
So we 'skipped' the lunch break for the 'consumer' department, which causes the ring group for the 'consumer' department to still ring while they're on lunch break and on the other hand it still causes the ring group for the 'professional' department to ring on Saturday.
We configured 3CX to redirect the call after 30 seconds in each case to the other ring group. So during the week, when the 'consumer' department is in lunch break, the phones still ring but after 30 seconds they are forwarded to the 'professional' department so the call doesn't get lost. Visa versa: on Saturday, when the client's customer still choose 'professional' in the IVR structure, whilst it's closed, the phones in this 'professional' ring group still ring, but after 30 seconds they are forwarded to the 'consumer' department'.
This is a temporary fix but the client wants it configured so that the 'consumer' department does not ring while they're on lunch break so that incoming calls are forwarded to the 'professional' department right away. Also for the 'professional' department: when the client's customers still choose 'professional' on a Saturday, the phones in this ring group shouldn't ring and should be forwarded right away to the 'consumer' ring group.
How can we achieve this? We didn't find a way to configure different opening hours for a ring group.
Thanks in advance.
