Before update 5, it was easy to have one carrier for voice and another one for SMS. That way if one provider has an outage, you don't loose both inbound calls and SMS, you only loose one of them. We tried to get this to work in U5 and now in U6 but having problems with inbound routing where it is only sending the SMS message to one extension instead of everyone in the ring group. Any idea how to fix this and keep the redundancy of separate carriers?

Hi @[email protected]

If you have separate trunks then the configuration is pretty similar. Just route the main trunk destination of the SMS trunks to the destination you want. If you have any inbound rules for the same number then adjust that as well.
People in the ring group will be able to receive and send messages using that trunk.

Thanks. Tried that though and it's not working. I directed the DID to a ring group and made sure it was the DID on the SMS trunk but instead of the text messages going to the people in the ring group, it went to an extension that isn't in the ring group. That test from from my cell phone which I have used before for testing. When I did the test from someone else's cell phone, Almost like it is remembering where past SMS messages were from and only sending them to the person they messaged with last time.

If you have an open conversation with someone that has not been dealt with from the PBX side then all messages from your phone will go to the extension you were talking before.
Just tell that person to mark the conversation as "Dealt with" and then try sending an SMS again.
