How to set up an E164

I had previous issues setting up outbound SIP trunk and finally got it to work with +44 so it communicated between 3cx and SIP trunk provider. The issue now is we can't make international calls and was recommended to set up an e164 but not sure how to do without messing up what we have. Is there a step-by-step guide to do this for a novice?

You can find short explainers on what each setting in E164 processing does here but solving your issue depends on what you have set up now and what you are trying to achieve. It could be as simple as adding an additional outbound rule or you might need to adjust your current settings.

Does you provider need international calls in E164?

I have created a backup incase anything goes wrong!

I want all calls to work domestic and international. the current setup works with the + (UK calls are working fine) but the international calls do not seem to work. I was suggested to use the e164 protocol but don't want to change anything as the current system is live.

Can you send us a screenshot of your current outbound rule so we know how it is configured? Since you are sending calls using the E164 format already I am assuming the international calls should follow the same format and should also work but lets have a look at your outbound rules in case we can spot something.

currently, I'm sending calls with the +44 which worked for making outbound but I want to make it e164 protocol. I'll send the picture link shortly to your DM.
