Hi

If we set up hub and spoke type bridging with a central system handling 1 large SIP trunk, will presence information still be passed between the 'spoke' sites?

And also is it still the case that you cannot have a phone BLF key on a desk phone from a bridged system, therefore you will need to use the web client etc to see other users status?

Hub and spoke would be necessary as potentially there could be a large amount of sites and mesh would become unwieldy

Thanks!

Hi @DaveA66

No, the bridge presence is only exchanged on a 1 to 1 basis. Calls can go through other PBXs over the bridge, but not the presence.

Yes, it is still the case. The IP Phones can only see the call status of extensions on the same PBX. This is not expected to ever change. We only provide this capability on the 3CX apps through the extension groups.

A mesh is always recommended for redundancy purposes. If the main hub site goes down the communication between other sites is down as well, plus the license needed for the hub PBX will need to be huge.

all in all, the more meshed up you are, the better you will be.

Yes you can pass presence info

Actually the presence will go from one spoke site to the hub only. The HTTPS communication is done on a 1 to 1 basis between the two PBXs which are directly linked to each other.

OK many thanks for the input!
