Just tried to renew a license that was out 90 day grace and was forced into swapping it for a yearly renewal which costs $59 more now.

Really hate it when companies do the bait and switch crap because they want everyone to pay all the time now.

Also really annoying because I'm getting ready to sell 3CX in my area and I spent time entering pricing in for perpetual and its going away.

I also have a question. If a yearly license doesn't get renewed in time does the whole phone system shutdown?

Perpetual is still available. 90 days is the grace period and it is quite generous. They extended the grace period to 90 days and removed the late renewal option which was only available for a few years and not popular since the introduction of the lower priced annual license option.

Lots of companies if you go past 90 days you have to re-purchase the perpetual product would would be super expensive (Veritas and Symantec come to mind). At least 3CX has the option to (A) convert your expired perpetual license to an annual license free (same edition and SC) for the first year, and the option to purchase the annual version with its added benefits (easy to upgrade, lower into price).

The annual edition once expired and past its grace period becomes a 4SC Standard Edition. It can easily be upgraded back to whatever edition it came from without re-installing.

3CX gives lots of warning emails now that your license maintenance is expiring. It's very important to stay on top of it.

Yeah I'm confused about that. If you let software go 90 days past expiration you clearly aren't interested in renewing it. I haven't heard anything about perpetual going away but if it does, it's really no different then what Adobe and everyone else is doing by effectively moving to a subscription model.
