Impossible to add a new phone

Hello all.

I've the 3CX Free and 2 users and 1 phone.

I want to add a second phone (for the second user)

It's impossible to add. Automatically (with Mac address) ou manually.

It's greyed.

Do you have any idea about this problem ?

Already tried with FF / Edge or Chrome.

You need to connect the phones over an sbc or use an router phone.

I've 2 phones already with STUN and the worked. The new one don't work.

So it's the new polotics of 3CX to disable them ? So I'll change for another PBX. I won't install an SBC just for a network with 1 phone !

If your pbx is not local to your phones you always need an sbc or routerphone.

Since v20. On v18 you could use stun, but for safety reasons this is not possible anymore. You can install an sbc anywhere you want, windows, linux, raspberry or use an routerphone with integrated sbc.

Not anymore as you see... You need an sbc to use the free cloud pbx. If you host by yourself you can use stun at your own risk, it is not supported anymore. Why is it such a problem to use an sbc?

Not anymore, so I think it's since the last release.

The problem is that If I have only 1 phone for a client who use a FREE pbx, it's very boring to install and buy an SBC for this. In this case, I just install a PSTN phone and "voilà".

If I have 5 or 10 phones, it's different of course (and this time, I don't take the free 3CX, but the pro)

I would go with stuff that could break at any time.... Its not really a problem to use an routerphone or an sbc that you can install anywhere...

For a litte non-profit company, it's a cost. 3 people in 3 different buildings means 3 phones (we have them) and 3 sbc. No server there, so we need 3 physicall SBC with the cost of a raspberry : 3 * 100 = 300 $. So I search another solution like install e FreePBX instead of 3CX.

Install the SBC once on a desktop and set the phones to use this.

A Raspberry is way cheaper, but anyway you can install it also on an pc or any other device you have. The easiest way is to use an routerphone. But anyway you are free to try freepbx or any other stuff und be sure you will come back.

No pc on the site only laptops. So no laptops, no phone this day ! It's very frustating. a simple thing becomes so complicated!
